How does it work?
During the PRP Facial procedure, a device called a microneedling pen equipped with tiny, fine needles, is used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin's surface while platelet-rich-plasma is applied topically and/or injected into treatment areas. This triggers the body's natural healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, two essential proteins responsible for maintaining the skin's firmness and elasticity, while, the PRP, releases growth factors further enhancing this process.
As new collagen is formed, the skin becomes rejuvenated, smoother, and more youthful-looking. Microneedling can be effective in addressing a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, stretch marks, and uneven skin texture. It is safe for ALL skin types and can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, or other areas of the body where skin improvement is desired.
Procedure
Prior to the procedure, skin is thoroughly cleansed then a topical numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes to minimize discomfort. During this time, we perform a small blood draw then centrifuge the sample to isolate the PRP which is then used topically during the procedure or injected into the skin in treatment areas. The microneedling device is then gently passed over the treatment area, creating controlled micro-injuries without causing significant damage to the skin's surface. After completion, skin is cleansed with sterile saline and a fresh layer of PRP is applied. Most visits are completed within one hour, with the actual treatment taking only 15-20 minutes.
Aftercare
Expect a couple of days of redness, maybe mild peeling, but no real “down time”. To promote optimal healing and results, it is advisable to avoid wearing makeup and refrain from engaging in activities that may cause excessive sweating for one week following the treatment. For the best recovery, we recommend staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water and using our post-procedure medical-grade skincare kit to protect and nourish your skin.
Results
The full results of PRP Facial usually become visible over the course of several weeks as collagen production continues. For optimal results, a treatment course is recommended of 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
