What is Collagen Threads?
Collagen threads are made of PDO (polydioxanone – a sugar molecule) the same material many absorbable sutures are made from. The threads dissolve over several weeks and during that time stimulate collagen formation around them. This boosts the skin resulting in smoothing of fine lines and added volume. They are a great treatment option for frown lines, acne scars, neck tightening, and much more!
Procedure
The treatment area is numbed using topical anesthetic cream. Once numb, threads are gently inserted into the skin. You may feel a little pinch, but there should be no other sensations once treatment is completed. Most visits are completed within 30 minutes, with the actual treatment taking only a few minutes. There is no downtime or recovery and treatment can be combined with other procedures.
Aftercare
There may be slight swelling or redness at the injection site, but this typically resolves within a day or two. Mild bruising may occur depending on the treatment area, but this can be minimized by following our pre-treatment instructions.
Results
Results start to set in 3-4 weeks as the threads dissolve with optimal results after a full treatment cycle at around three to four months.
