How does it work?
During the microneedling procedure, a device called a microneedling pen equipped with tiny, fine needles, is used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin's surface. The micro-injuries trigger the body's natural healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, two essential proteins responsible for maintaining the skin's firmness and elasticity. As new collagen is formed, the skin becomes rejuvenated, smoother, and more youthful-looking. Microneedling can be effective in addressing a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, stretch marks, and uneven skin texture. It is suitable for most skin types and can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, or other areas of the body where skin improvement is desired.
Procedure
After your skin is thoroughly cleansed, topical numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes to minimize discomfort. The microneedling device is then gently passed over the treatment area, creating controlled micro-channels without causing significant damage to the skin's surface. After completion, skin is cleansed with sterile saline. Most visits are completed within one hour, with the actual treatment taking only 15-20 minutes.
Aftercare
Expect a couple of days of redness, maybe mild peeling, but no real “down time”. To promote optimal healing and results, it is advisable to avoid wearing makeup and refrain from engaging in activities that may cause excessive sweating for one week following the treatment. Results
The full results of microneedling usually become visible over the course of several weeks as collagen production continues. For optimal results, a treatment course is recommended of 3-4 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
